More than 10,000 people attended the annual Diwali Festival on Saturday at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre.

The Hindu festival marks the beginning of the New Year.

The free festival had “Bollywood” entertainment, art and traditional Indian food. The event wraps up at 8 p.m. with a fireworks display.

Diwali is co-sponsored by the Town of Cary's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources department and Hum Sub, a non-profit organization.
