Hillsborough to host Handmade Parade

The first-ever Hillsborough Handmade Parade will take place Oct. 11 with the theme “The Waters of the Eno and Her Creatures.” Anyone can participate.

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The first-ever Hillsborough Handmade Parade will take place Oct. 11 with the theme “The Waters of the Eno and Her Creatures.” Anyone can participate.

The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. on East Margaret Lane, and will proceed west to Churton Street and north to Union Street. A grand finale will take place at the Burwell School Historic Site. The route is marked in blue on the map below.

Some downtown streets will be closed to vehicle traffic to facilitate the marchers.

Cameron Street between East King Street and East Margaret Lane will be closed beginning at 1:45 p.m. Churton Street from Margaret Lane to Union Street will be closed beginning at 2:30 p.m.

All streets are expected to re-open by 3:30 p.m.

Free parking is available on King Street and in nearby lots.
