Fayetteville dog park opens Tuesday

Fayetteville dogs get a new place to roam Sept. 30 when the Riverside Dog Park opens at 355 N. Eastern Blvd. A ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday will inaugurate the park. After that, hours are daily from dawn to dusk.

The five-acre park has separate, fenced areas for big and small dogs to run off-leach while owners relax on benches.

Members of the Bark for a Park committee plan for the park to eventually connect with Cross Creek Linear Park and the Cape Fear Botanical Garden.

Dogs must be legally licensed and have current vaccinations, and must be at least four months old to play at the park.
