FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville's Fourth Friday this month will signal the kickoff to the city's 30th International Folk Festival.

The monthly celebration of the arts reflects the many faces of Fayetteville. "Unity in Our Community," a juried photography competition, will open Friday at the Arts Council of Fayetteville headquarters at 301 Hay St.

It is the first event of the three-day International Folk Festival.

The annual Parade of Nations takes place on Hay Street Saturday afternoon, followed by food, shopping and entertainment Sunday at Festival Park.
