Hillsborough, N.C. — The Orange County School District will get more than $200,000 to fund crisis planning from the federal government.
The Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools (REMS) Grant will be used to improve the district's ability to plan for, prevent and react to an emergency, district program director Frank Meadows said.
Grant funds can be used to prepare for natural disasters, terrorist attacks, illness outbreaks or other emergencies.
