The Durham departments of Neighborhood Improvement Services and Community Development will relocate from their offices at 401 E. Lakewood Ave. to the Golden Belt Building at 807 E. Main St., beginning on Thursday.

The city expects the moves to take two days.

Residents who have business with either department are cautioned that employees will not have access to phones or e-mail beginning Thursday. Normal business is expected to resume at the new location Monday.

This neighborhood improvement initiative is such a great idea. I'm so glad that our leaders implemented it. It cleans up our city, which increases our quality of life and makes our city more valuable, both monetarily and personally. Thank you, Durham leaders. :-)
