Durham city departments to move Thursday

The Durham departments of Neighborhood Improvement Services and Community Development will relocate from their offices at 401 E. Lakewood Ave. to the Golden Belt Building at 807 E. Main St., beginning on Thursday.

The city expects the moves to take two days.

Residents who have business with either department are cautioned that employees will not have access to phones or e-mail beginning Thursday. Normal business is expected to resume at the new location Monday.

Residents with urgent needs should call Durham One Call at 919-560-1200.

The new phone number for the Department of Neighborhood Improvement Services will be 919-560-1647; the new fax number will be 919-560-1790.

Phone and fax numbers for the Department of Community Development will remain the same.

Employee e-mail addresses will remain the same for both departments.
