Posted July 17, 2008

— An Elm City man won $200,000 in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, matching all five white balls.

Upon receiving his check Thursday, Robert Poole said, “This is sweet!”

He said he will use the money to pay bills, invest and to take a vacation.

Poole bought the winning ticket at Kangaroo on West Raleigh Road in Wilson.

North Carolina had 37,144 winners statewide in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, with winnings ranging from $3 to Poole's $200,000 stake.

Congratulations, Mr. Poole. I wish I had your luck. Oh, that's right, you have to play to win. I knew I forgot to do something on Wednesday! Enjoy your winnings!!!!!!
