RALEIGH, N.C. — The online master's degree programs at North Carolina State University's Department of Engineering were named a "Best Buy" by GetEducated.com, a site that ranks distance-learning programs.

GetEducated.com compared 216 online engineering programs to determine which offered the best education at the best price.

At N.C. State, in-state students pay $6,930 for a master's degree in engineering; out-of-state students pay $20,400.

The university offers master's degree programs online in 10 engineering disciplines: aerospace engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear engineering.

Coursework, lectures and handouts are identical to those available to students on campus.
