Durham honors leaders in diversity

The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce honored awarded three members the Circle of Influence Diversity Award Wednesday. The awards go to local businesses who practice diversity in hiring and contracting.

DURHAM, N.C. — The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce honored awarded three members the Circle of Influence Diversity Award Wednesday. The awards go to local businesses who practice diversity in hiring and contracting.

2008 Circle of Influence winners:

  • Individual: Deborah Giles, director of the City of Durham’s Department of Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance
  • Small Business: Callis Contractors
  • Large Business: Time Warner Cable, East Carolina Division

Dan W. Hill III took home the Duke Energy Citizenship & Service award for his work with Durham City Council, The Durham Roundtable, The Durham Nativity School, Durham Crime Stoppers and the Durham Technical Community College Foundation.
