North Carolina Children's Hospital will be named the seventh-best in the nation for respiratory disorders in U.S. News and World Report next week.

The magazine, which has regularly ranked the best overall pediatric centers, narrowed the focus in 2008 to identify top-ranked hospitals in the treatment of cancer, digestive disorders, heart and heart surgery, neonatal care, neurology and neurosurgery, respiratory disorders, and general pediatrics.

Hospitals are evaluated on reputation, outcome, and care-related measures such as nursing care, advanced technology, credentialing, according to the magazine.
