Raleigh, N.C. — Downtown Raleigh's annual arts festival begins Friday when a sand sculptor begins his work in Moore Square.
Artsplosure, a free outdoor event featuring artists' booths and musical performances, will be held rain or shine May 17 and 18.
Among the displays will be a 20-foot paper caterpillar, Ed Moore's sand sculpture and artwork by Wake County middle and high school students.
