North Carolina Central University recognized Karen Dacons-Brock during Saturday's graduation ceremony.
Dacons-Brock is one of 16 recipients of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors’ Award for Excellence in Teaching. She earned the honor for her theatrical productions that teach minority communities about health risks.
Also honored at commencement were Kendra L. Harris, an assistant professor of marketing in the School of Business; James Osler, an assistant professor in the School of Education; and Wendy Rountree, an assistant professor in the Department of English and Mass Communication.
