— Raleigh placed fifth in a recent survey of the greenest U.S. cities.

Thumbtack, a website designed to help people find local services, ranked cities on per capita availability of eco-friendly services, as well as the premium charged by some green businesses.

Some of the services included in the rankings were solar panel installation, bicycle repair, chemical-free house cleaning, organic catering, electronics recycling, chemical-free pest control, chemical-free carpet cleaning, sustainable interior design, green architects and home energy audits.

San Francisco topped the list, followed by neighboring Oakland and San Jose. Las Vegas was No. 4, and Columbus, Ohio, Seattle, Kansas City, Mo., Denver and San Diego rounded out the list.

Charlotte was third nationally in availability of bike repair, according to the rankings.

The only thing really green is the green color of the money the Global Warming and sustainability scams have put in the pockets of the players, many of whom have already crashed and burned, taking millions of taxpayer dollars with them. They have proven one thing however. The indoctrination received in governemnt schools, coupled with dishonest scientists and bureaucrats has allowed these manipulators to make useful tools out many in the American public.

    its not easy being green.
How did Las Vegas (in the desert...) get to 4th?

  • Mr. Middle of the Road Aug 6, 2012

'that should draw a least a couple more people to Raleigh'.

And I guess you would rather be like Cleveland where everyone is leaving. Hey, the Greyhound is waiting when you want to go.

Yeah right, how green will we be when they started the frickin fracking?

  • Cleanup on Aisle Cool Aug 3, 2012

Yeah, "green" as in naive. Suckers. It says we're willing to pay high premiums for green businesses.

Wow, just wow...that should draw at least a couple more people to Raleigh. Green...what a joke! I sneeze more in my "green" building than I do anywhere.

Ah, the ever-critical ranking of "availability of bike repair." Congrats, Charlotte! Er, I think.
