Washington — The White House will honor a North Carolina man Wednesday for his efforts to improve access to health care.
Adam Searing is one of 10 Champions of Change who are helping their communities understand the impact of and opportunities under the federal health care reform law, according to a news release.
The director of the Health Access Coalition for the North Carolina Justice Center, Searing has fought to keep health plans and hospitals nonprofit and community-focused, helped implement expansions of the state Medicaid program and helped pass a model state Children's Health Insurance Program, officials said.
Searing also was recently named a Health Advocate of the Year by the national consumer group Families USA.
