Catholic organization gives $38K

— The Raleigh Knights of Columbus distributed $38,000 in grants Sunday to 19 recipients.

The Knights' all-volunteer fund-raising effort benefits agencies, teachers and schools that help people with intellectual disabilities in North Carolina, including Special Olympics Wake County, The ARC of Wake County, Wake Chapter of the Autism Society, Learning Together, Community Partnerships, Wake Enterprises and the Triangle Down Syndrome Network.

    Prozac, give it a rest. I'm a Knight from a different council in Cary, and we didn't mention our $25K of donations in this article. In fact, no one mentioned that we Knights donate this money EVERY YEAR and have been doing it for MANY YEARS. In the spirit of Lent, I forgive you for your rotten comment. :)

    this group has a heart of gold but they won't do anything unless it's a big media publicity event. they gotta get a huge pat on the back and toot it on the street corners. ask them to do something one on one and you will get the cold shoulder because there's no media attention in that.

    hmm...wasn't that just the opposite of what Lent calls them to be.
