A Marine walking the country to raise money for veterans causes made a stop Friday in the Triangle.

Mac McQuown is planning to stop in every state capital in the United States along a five-year, 15,000-mile journey. Raleigh was his fourth capital, and he'll take about a month to walk across North Carolina.

McQuown started his journey Sept. 11 in Virginia.

"It took me a few weeks to get acclimated to this," he said. "I still suffer from blisters from time to time, sore muscles, especially climbing these hills pulling this cart, but it's well worth the effort.
