Goodmon Awards gala honors groups, individuals

Durham, N.C. — The winners of the 9th annual Goodmon Awards were announced Wednesday during a ceremony at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham.
The winners, who were chosen for exhibiting leadership, were Community Success Initiative Executive Director Dennis Gabby, Durham City Councilman Mike Woodard, Teach for America of Eastern North Carolina Executive Director Robyn Schryer Fehrman, Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, Inc. and the Falls Lake Stakeholder Project.
The award is named for Jim Goodmon, president and CEO of Capitol Broadcasting – the parent company of WRAL-TV.
