Police in Durham are bringing a little cheer this holiday in the form of free bicycles.

The Herald-Sun of Durham reports (http://bit.ly/uyfSEF) that police are giving away free bicycles to charitable organizations with a 501c(3) exemption.

Officials say they're giving away bikes that have remained unclaimed for 60 days after being confiscated.

Representatives from qualified charitable groups can pick up the bikes Dec. 16 and 17. Any bikes that are left over will be auctioned.

Organizations have until Dec. 1 to see if they qualify.
