Person dies in trench collapse at NCSU work site

A person trapped in a work site trench on North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus died Tuesday afternoon. Crews initially responded to the work site, which sits on the edge of a soccer field at the corner of Main Campus Drive and Achievement Drive, about 12:45 p.m. A backhoe moved dirt away from the trench and allowed emergency to remove the body.
