A Cool Drink After a Long Ride

Zoo keeper Jackie Buck gives a cool drink of water to Samantha, the newest elephant at the North Carolina Zoo. The elephant arrived early Sunday morning from the Edmonton Valley Zoo in Alberta, Canada, as part of the N.C. Zoo’s elephant and rhino exhibit expansion. Buck, a keeper at the Edmonton zoo, will spend the next week with Samantha helping her adjust to her new home.
