Meteorologist, Amy Wilma in the W RL severe weather center, we have a stalled out frontal boundary over central North Carolina and several disturbances moving in from the south and west. So it stays pretty unsettled through the weekend and into early next week, we'll have some scattered showers and thunderstorm across the area today. Some pockets of heavy rain will be possible. It's a 40 to 50% chance for scattered storms. Today. It won't rain all day, but we will have waves of rain moving through a 60% chance on Sunday, a 70% chance Monday, a 30% chance Tuesday and a 20% chance on Wednesday. Now, for today, the best chance for any showers and storms will be over the northern and western part of the area. Here's four o'clock this afternoon. It's mainly the northern and western counties that have the rain. Same thing late this evening, northern and western communities have the best chance for rain right along stalled frontal boundary. 10 o'clock tonight, we will still have some showers and storms and even overnight tonight, we'll have some light rain and some storms. So again, the best chance for rain today will be over northern and western counties, southeastern parts of the area could stay mainly dry. Looking ahead to Sunday, it's a 60% chance of showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. And that's for everyone. A pretty good chance for hit and miss storms all across the viewing area tomorrow. Just like today, it's not going to rain all day tomorrow. But we will have waves of showers and storms moving through because of the rain and the clouds, temperatures are not as hot. We're not in the nineties this weekend, highs will stay in the lower eighties today. And Sunday, that trend continues into Monday 83 for the high Monday. But we do have a really good chance for showers and storms on Monday, Tuesday. Just a slim chance for a shower storm and temperatures start to heat back up 87 for the high, 94 for the high temperature on Wednesday. Looking pretty dry. Wednesday. Some spotty showers and storms Thursday with highs near 90 a few storms Friday with a high of 88.

Protesters marched around UNC on Friday morning. Their nearly-two mile loop stopped traffic and interrupted students daily activities.

Barricades like these are usually put up during moments of unrest during protests, but they were unnecessary today. As a group of pro Palestinian protesters made their way through campus peacefully albeit loudly to get their message carrying signs of support for the Palestinian people impacted by the Israel Hamas war. Roughly 100 protesters made their way through unc's campus. They want the university to pull out any investments in Israeli businesses. It's unknown if us $5.2 billion endowment invests in any companies associated with Israel. It's what led to unrest on UN CS campus. Earlier this week, law enforcement and protesters clashed at an encampment. We're not here to destroy anything. We're here to get a message out. We're here to pressure people. We're here to make a change. Eri Mitchell is yet to see happen, but he feels this group is making an impact. I believe that seeing Palestinian Children holding up signs saying please continue is a green light for us to keep showing solidarity, to keep showing that we're out here. Friday's protests brought the group through U C's campus, stopping traffic and peacefully interrupting daily activities for students taking graduation photos near the old well, which did draw some support from those passing by. You hear other cars honking? Of course not. I do think that we're at some inflection point. This UN C student wanted to remain anonymous. He's at odds internally battling against the school. He'll get a diploma from in a couple of years. I don't know. I think I'm proud to be a student here. I think the students are showing up, but I can't say that I'm proud, I'm definitely not proud of UN C and the system and what they're doing and they say they won't stop until they see change.
