Have you ever seen a lion, tiger or wolf tussle with a Christmas tree? Now you can.
Cranberry Tree Farm is donating their leftover Christmas trees to the Conservators' Center, 3242 Mt. Zion Church Road, Mebane. The event is a holiday tradition for staff and volunteers. This year, for the first time, the public is invited to attend.
The animals love the smell of pine and enjoy tussling with the trees.
The tree toss is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Tickets must be purchased in advance online or by calling 336-421-0883. The cost is $20 and includes watching the tree toss, homemade baked goods, hot chocolate and apple cider.
Conservators' Center staff and volunteers will also be on hand to answer questions about the animals.
Children under 12 years old cannot attend.
