Site SearchDurham Public Schools started the new year with the opening of a new elementary school.
Spring Valley Elementary School, at 2051 Northern Durham Parkway, opened to students Monday. The principal is Sylvia Bittle.
The school will host an open house on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.
