What if There Are More Than 35 Students in a Class?

Q: What can/should be done if there are more than 35 students in a class?
- Teacher, Holly Springs

A: Teachers and parents should talk to their principal about class size. If that doesn’t work, you can take it a step further, according to Lynda Fuller with the N.C. Department of Public Instruction.

“If they feel they did not get a complete response, they could contact Scott Douglass with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. His telephone number is 919.807.3737 and his email address is sdouglas@dpi.state.nc.us.”

Well the first question that should be asked is are all the students in the class supposed to be there? Any student that is there because they have been moved from another school becasue the parent doesn't want their child's education to inconvenience them (year-round, block schedule, etc) should be removed to the child's originally assigned school.
