We're hearing plenty of beautiful music this holiday season and an extraordinary vocalist is providing some of it. At a time when schools and everyone else is tightening budgets, Bob Dickson developed a musical assistance program for schools in the triangle. He and his quartet supply music, run workshops, and conduct contests for about 40 elementary, middle and high schools. Bob and his quartet are all past retirement age and do what they do for free for the love of music. Their slogan is Get America Singing Again. The men spend all day at the schools, working with several classes and different music teachers. Their objective is to make kids comfortable with singing a cappella, without relying on loud music. The men schedule assemblies for the whole school to attend while Bob and his crew sing and teach the love of music. Music teachers also get a nice supplement to what they do. Bob is also a member of the 40 man General Assembly Chorus.
