Wake school bus drivers to get added training
School bus drivers for the Wake County Public School System will begin a series of in-depth training sessions in April to improve their skills and student safety.
Posted — UpdatedThe training, provided by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles, will focus on defensive driving techniques, provide post-accident analysis and suggest improved driving methods. The new, two-hour classes are in addition to WCPSS existing driver training which includes classroom instruction, on-the-road exercises and personalized one-on-one training with DMV instructors.
The Wake County Public School System operates 920 yellow school buses and transports 73,000 students each day.
