Wake County teachers to get promised pay raise

Posted July 24, 2012

Wake County Public School System

— The Wake County school board is keeping its promise to teachers to give them a modest 1-percent pay increase for next school year.

State lawmakers included funding for the pay raise in the 2012-13 budget approved last month. The school board finalized the measure at its Tuesday meeting.

Board members also vowed Tuesday to keep a close eye on schools with large numbers of low-performing students. Vice Chair Keith Sutton said the board may have to come up with extra resources to help those students in the future.

I am sure those teachers will appreciate any amount considering the number of people without jobs.. When they begin work in August they may as well forget about any kind of life until June as they work 17 hours and on the weekends..Witnessed such with my own eyes..
    Good Luck Teachers
