Spring 2011 graduation schedule
Newly minted college graduates and their families are celebrating across the Triangle and eastern North Carolina this spring.

Campbell University: The main graduation ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 14 in the Pope Convocation Center. The graduation ceremony for extended campus undergraduates takes place at 3 p.m. that same day in the Pope Convocation Center.
Duke University: The commencement ceremony will be held at Wallace Wade Stadium at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 15. Cisco chairman John Chambers is the featured speaker.
Durham Technical Community College: The commencement ceremony takes place at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 in the Durham Performing Arts Center.
East Carolina University: The graduation ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 6 at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
Fayetteville State University: U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will address more than 500 graduates during the school's ceremony at 9 a.m. on May 7 at the Crown Coliseum.
Louisburg College: College basketball star and head coach of women's basketball at the University of Illinois-Chicago, Regina Miller will speak in the graduation ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7 in the Dickson Auditorium of the Seby B. Jones Performing Arts Center.
Meredith College: U.S. Coast Guard Vice Admiral Sally Brice-O'Hara is the featured speaker at the graduation ceremony set for Sunday, May 8 at 10 a.m. in the college's amphitheater.
Mount Olive College: Graduation takes place at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7 in the Kornegay Arena. The featured speaker is Dr. Kay Hall Albertson, president of Wayne Community College.
North Carolina Central University: Commencement for graduation and professional degrees takes place at 3 p.m. Friday, May 13 in the McDougald McLendon Gymnasium. Normal Anderson, a NCCU graduate and CEO of the American Psychological Association, is the featured speaker. The ceremony for baccalaureate degrees will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14 in O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium. Civil rights leader U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., will speak.
North Carolina State University: The graduation ceremony begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 14 in the RBC Center. The featured speaker is James Rogers, president and CEO of Duke Energy.
North Carolina Wesleyan College: U.S. Sen. Richard spoke at the commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 in the Dunn Center of Performing Arts.
Peace College: Graduation will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7 on the College Green in Front of Main Hall. State Rep. Deborah K. Ross, D-Wake County, will be the featured speaker.
Saint Augustine's College: Maj. Gen. Ronald L. Bailey delivered the commencement address at Saint Augustine’s graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 1. The ceremony was held on the College Quadrangle.
Shaw University: The commencement ceremony will be held in the Spaulding Gymnasium at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 6.
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 8 in Kenan Stadium. Edward Osborne Wilson Jr., Harvard University professor and two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for nonfiction, will deliver the commencement address.
Vance-Granville Community College: The ceremony takes place at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 13.
Wake Technical Community College: The ceremony takes place at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 23 in the Raleigh Convention and Civic Center.
