Cost of lunch going up in Person County
Person County students will pay an extra 25 cents for meals from the school cafeteria this fall.

ROXBORO, N.C. — Person County students will pay an extra 25 cents for meals from the school cafeteria this fall, said Lyn D. Holt, the school system's child nutrition director.
A shrinking student population means fewer sales at the schools, and revenue from meals has fallen, Holt said.
The Person County Board of Education voted for the increase at its meeting June 10.
Under the new pricing scheme, breakfast will cost $1, elementary school lunch will cost $1.75, and middle and high school lunch will cost $2.
