LOUISBURG, N.C. — The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools voted Tuesday to reaffirm Louisburg College’s accreditation through 2016.

The association placed the college on warning two years ago to give administrators time to shore up the school's shaky finances.

Dr. John Cameron, chairman of the college Board of Trustees, call the vote, "yet another sign that we are on the best path possible."

College President Mark La Branche said, "We have turned the corner and made extraordinary progress in extremely difficult economic times."
