Items exempt during the N.C. sales tax holiday
The state of North Carolina offers an annual holiday from sales tax each August. This year, certain items can be purchases tax-free from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8.
