Knightdale Elementary School

Mary Jones

Ms. Jones is the best teacher. She gives us "juicy" words like inquisitve, magnificent, ornery and melancholy to use to make our writing better. She is beautiful and has pretty highlights in her hair. I hug her every morning.

Mrs. Prow

My son is dyslexic which made the early years in elementary school extremely difficult for him. School was a tremendous struggle and his self esteem was not great because of the difficulty reading. During his 3rd grade year he grew tremendously because of the extra time and attention he was given by his teacher. She was so understanding and could see exactly what strategies were needed to bring him out of his shell. Not only was she a great teacher but also a friend to him. She was able to reach him in a way that the previous teachers were not able to do. She worked hard academically but also she worked with him socially. He changed that year and started to enjoy school. She even showed up at some of his ball games (she knew that was an important part of his life and something he felt he was good at) and he just loved her seeing him play. My son is now a 7th Grader and made the A-B honor roll. He has learned to deal with his dyslexia and worked hard to overcome many obstacles. I truly credit her for being the teacher that saw a child who wanted to succeed but just didn't know how. She helped him and I'm sure she has helped many others and for that I will always put her at the top of my list when it comes to teachers who truly care.
