Jean Lagas

My son and I lived in Raleigh for 4 years. While we were there, my son struggled in various subjects. One resource teacher, Jean Lagas, took him under her wing and gave him a lot of individual attention that she did not have to give him. She became to know him well and he also knew her, giving it more of a personal touch and helping him to move in a comfort zone that worked and made him more successful at the subjects he struggled in. Jean refused to give up on my son, even when he gave up, she pushed him to be the best he could be. After we moved back from Iowa, he began struggling again and Jean worked with the teachers here to come up with a workable transition plan for my son. She sent a huge amount of material and information to the new school to help them work with him and to keep him on track with all the hard work she had accomplished with him. I truly know with all my heart that she was a blessing for my son, and I have NEVER forgotten her energy and persistance. She is a gem!!! We love you Jean!
