Jetta Tyson

Back in 1987 Raleigh did some re-districting. I had gone to Millbrook for 2 years and was re-routed to Sanderson. To make it worse, I had failed my grade so I started in a new school behind a year. Mrs. Tyson was my English teacher and the only person at Sanderson that took enough of an interest in me to know how unhappy I was. She always encouraged me to come to school, do my assignments both there and at home. She was my teacher, but looking back on that time, she was also my friend and wanted to see me succeed. Thank you Ms. Tyson for seeing something in me that I didn't. :-)
