Wake County School Reassignment Plan (Jan. 9)
This is the Wake County Public School System's 2007-08 final proposal of a growth management plan for the 2007-08 school year presented to the Board of Education on January 9, 2007.
Staff in the Wake County Public School Growth and Planning Department have developed a growth management plan for 2007-08 school year and engaged in preliminary planning for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years. Plans are based upon enrollment projections jointly developed with the Wake County Planning Department and capital improvement programs (CIPs) that were adopted by the Board of Education in 2004 and May 2006.
These recommendations are designed to provide appropriate environments for teaching and learning for all students by accommodating growth, minimizing the impact of overcrowding, assigning a healthy student population to every school, and anticipating the impact of future growth.
The five new schools scheduled to open in the fall of 2007 and existing schools being affected by the plan are included.
