What ever happen to the dying custom of saying thank you?? I have 3 perfect examples:
First: I went grocery shopping today, I went thru the check out and the cashier never said, thank you for shopping with us. Maybe she was in a bad mood, maybe she didn't care, but even the manager never said thank you, and he helped bag my groceries. When I said thank you, it was never acknowledged.
Second: I did a personal loan for a friend. Her credit was off and she could not get a loan other than 30% so I did it..... she never said thank you. "I swear I'll pay you back" was it. It was a favor for someone I care about, but a thank you would have been nice.
Third: Honey and me were going down 540 yesterday, there was a lady with a flat tire, honey stopped and changed it for her. She had 3 kids with her, so I stood out there and chatted some with her so she'd know all was ok..... she NEVER said thank you. All she said was "I'd pay ya if I had cash, but I don't" , I told her, "We didn't stop for money, she needed help and I was glad we could do it"....but still, thank you would have been nice.
Whatever happened to a simple "Thank you"......
I don't expect it for everything, but sometimes to acknowledge a gesture of business or kindness, its nice. Am I alone here???? Am I asking too much for a simple Thank you???
