do canadians like their health care system? why not ask a canadian instead of a republican?

DURHAM — Lots of scare tactics coming from the Big Pharma and Big Insurance lobbyists in Washington (and perpetuated by individuals who fall for those stories here on Main Street) but it occurred to me that, instead of relying on insurance lobbyists and Republicans for information about their system - why not take the radical approach of asking a Canadian?

The following hyperlink will take you to a chart showing a side-by-side comparison of how Canadians and Americans view their systems. In some cases, the US system won. in some cases, the Canadian system won. Sometimes it was a draw.

Canadians DID complain of longer waits to see specialists, so if that's your biggest issue, then you'd prefer the US system. However when it comes to access and affordability, the Canadian system was superior.

Anyway, I'm not a Canadian (but I did live there for a while and I can tell you anecdotally that my Canadian friends to a person, seemed very happy with their system), so don't take my word for it, but if you're trying to sift through the hoopla and the scare stories, you might find this poll of interest.

Check out the results. Make up your own mind. Don't listen to me, and for heaven's sake don't take the insurance lobby's (or their Republican puppets) word for ANYTHING related to your well being. They're in this for themselves, not for you.

By the way, I'm not pushing the Canadian system. I'm just trying to cut through the bs and provide information that might help you make the decision that's best for you.
