The pompous lying windbags in Congress and the main stream media have got the American Taxpayer up in arms over these AIG bonuses.
But we now know that:
1) the bonus information was contained in the stimulus bill...The one that Obama said we had to get signed right away to avoid a "turning a disaster into a catastrophe". The one that was so urgent, that lawmakers weren't given a full day to review before voting on it. The one that they voted on, and then he took a mini-vacation to take his wife out, to enjoy their little Valentine's Day dinner, and then he took another couple of days before signing....THAT catastrophe-avoiding piece of legislation.
2) the CEO (used by the House sub-committee yesterday as their whipping-boy) was in contact for at least 3 months with members of congress and the Fed. discussing items INCLUDING the bonuses, which the pompous windbags in congress continue to declare they knew nothing about.
3) this greedy capitalist pig CEO VOLUNTEERED to help get AIG out of this "crisis" for the salary of $1.00 a year.
4) Chris Dodd who lied about putting the language in the bill to allow for these bonuses, and now has, PARTIALLY come clean, says the "administration made him do it" that someone from Treasury insisted the language be in there...but he can't remember the exact person that reuqired it...(can you say Tim "Turbo Tax" Geithner?)
So, while we watch this little dance over 165 million in bonuses we've got the following going on:
1) Obama's cap and trade plan, which he said would cost about 650 billion is actually going to cost closer to $2 trillion! Of course, their spin is this is going to be REVENUE to the almighty government...when, in fact, it will be an expense that is passed on to each and every one of us in the form of higher energy bills - otherwise known as an indirect tax!
2) a Federal Reserve that just printed another trillion bucks and is looking at printing yet another in the near future! But pay no attention to that...don't worry about your own few dollars you've managed to save being worth maybe half...worry about 160 million in bonuses to AIG!
3) the UN looking at OUR money, as if it's their own personal line of credit to spend billion to fight global poverty, and global warming. "Don't worry, those greedy, capitalist, deadbeat American pigs will pay for it...they OWE it to the rest of the world.
4) Iran, working just as hard as it can, to go nuclear, with Achmadinejad vowing to wipe Isreal off the face of the earth.
5) Benjamin Netanyahu in Isreal, determined to protect Israel, using whatever means necessary, getting the back of Obama's hand, while Obama is sending envoys to drink tea with every psycho dictator on the face of the earth.
6) Obama sending terrorists currently at Gitmo to any country that will take them and his Attorney General stating today that we may be bringing them into the homeland, while he decides what to do with them! But, by god, he's gonna close that Gitmo...
7) an effective ban on the terms "War on Terror","enemy combatant", and even the term "terrorism" itself, appears to be politically incorrect, if you listen to his Director of Homeland Security.
8) Nancy Pelosi, 3rd in Line to the Presidency, telling illegal aliens that it's time to STOP enforcing the laws she was sworn to uphold
9) a war on our southern border
10) a possible 1.5 trillion dollar healthcare fiasco about to be rammed down our throats, or UP another orifice!
11) ACORN moving to the top of the line to conduct our upcoming census!
12) a proposal to bankrupt existing private insurers by forcing them to pay our obligations to our wounded warriors
13) social security and medicare programs about to go bankrupt if drastic changes aren't made to them (I don't even want to look up the amounts that will cost us in additional tax increases)
14) Obama's 3.6 trillion dollar budget!
I have to stop...this is making me sick.
BUT...on the BRIGHT side...even Democrats in the Senate have said "whoaaaaa there, Obamay". 15 Senate Democrats ( 1/4 of those currently serving) have joined a coalition to send a message to this administration that they can no longer be expected to toe the party line. Having 15 gives them strength to stop this snowball headed to hell. Couple these 15, with the 50 Blue dog democrats from the House, and some sanity COULD be restored, and this future of our children and grandchildren could be saved.
That's just one good reason to make a stand, to show up, at the tea parties that are being held all across the country.... We need to show the moderate democrats that if they will be fiscally responsible, we can support them.
This goes for the federal government, as well as our state government...stop the out of control spending, stop the borrowing, stop the taxing.
There is a tea party being held at the Capitol grounds this Saturday from 12-3. If you miss that one, there will be 3 held throughout the day, at various location in Raleigh, including the Capitol Grounds, the Halifax Mall, and in front of the Federal Bldg. on New Bern.
