get ready...for road rage!

Our tire-tool wielding driver in the photo is looking for satisfaction...maybe his "trunk monkey" is on vacation?

You see it everyday out on the highway....is it you?

Mild-mannered, good-natured people who suddenly go ballistic behind the wheel. Maybe it's pent-up anger they've stored up for days - who knows? In any case the bad tempers flash white-hot sometimes for the most minor of reasons! Here's a list of pet peeves guaranteed to get most drivers hot under the collar:

TAILGATING - Don't you love it when some fool thinks it's a great idea to stay right up on your bumper..like they're gonna bully you into speeding up, or maybe they're waiting to dispense the coup de grace and blow past you at the next opportunity. You try the brake tap...fools 'em once. Wouldn't we love to advance to full-blown hard braking? After all, if they rear-end you, it's their fault eh?

COMPETITIVE - Theres a whole class of these. Mostly guys (I must admit). If they happen to be driving slow and you try to pass them, they realize it and speed up to make overtaking them as hard as possible! By then of course the game is on, and passing has become a mission. Hopefully the 2 of you won't meet a cop as you travel 2 abreast at 80+ MPH  :-)

CUT OFFS (1) - Then of course, there's the car you meet on a 2-lane road waiting to turn left across your lane...nobody at all behind you...all he has to do is wait 15 seconds and turn after you drive by. What does he do? He waits 12 seconds and TURNS IN FRONT OF YOU! Even the most mild mannered, soft-spoken driver is screaming obscenities at this juncture...

CUT OFFS (2) - A crowd pleaser. Here's a jerk in the left lane who decides his mission in life is to be in front of you in the right lane. If you try to be good and keep a car length open ahead of you - SWOOSH! Here he comes, often failing to signal to add insult to injury.

LINE CUTTER - You're in a traffic jam on 64, backed up in a line of cars well over a mile long. Along comes the "privileged one", who's decided to take to the service lane on the right shoulder, where she will proceed to pass the entire line of cars, 'safe' in her assumption that she will find some sap way up ahead to let her in. So far the sap hasn't been me. I love it when 18-wheelers see this and fade over to the right to block in and punish the offender! :)

Just a quick few examples...
