The newest ranking of grocery stores based on customer satisfaction scores has the usual favorites on top, although two local stores took a nose dive in the list.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index survey taken in 2015 includes responses from over 9,000 shoppers in the United States. They were asked to rank stores based on different aspects including convenience, cost, courtesy and quality.

As CouponsintheNews.com points out, the only store to improve on the list was the #1 Wegmans. They increased their score by one point to 84. The rest of the scores either held steady or watched their scores decrease.

One of the biggest surprises was Whole Foods who saw an eight point drop from last year to come in at 73 points. The survey indicates that the 10% hit was driven by its continued "reputation for high prices." Maybe the new lower-priced chain rolling out next year from Whole Foods will help with that reputation. The new store has not yet been named but locations are supposed to open in 2017.

Target also fell significantly on the list from 81 to 71 points, a 12% drop. Target is making changes across the board in their stores this year including transitioning their pharmacy to CVS so they can focus on other departments. The rankings next year will show how successful the restructuring has been.

Other local stores on the list include:

#2 Trader Joe's, 83 score

#3 Publix, 82 score

#5 Aldi, 81 score

#7 All Others (specific stores are not listed in the report)

#8 Food Lion, 76 score

#8 Kroger, 76 score

#13 Whole Foods, 73 score (down 10% from last year)

#14 Target, 71 score (down 12% from last year)

#19 Walmart (at the bottom of the list)

Drug Store Rankings

The drug store/pharmacy rankings were also interesting. Kroger took the top spot with a score of 73. Other drug stores on the list include:

#2 Target

#3 Kmart

#5: Walgreens

#6 CVS

#7 Rite Aid

#9 Walmart (at the bottom of the list)

Finally, this survey lumped stores like Dollar Tree and Dollar General into the list with Department and Discount stores so we can't really see how well they rank directly with the other grocery stores.

Are you a Whole Foods or Target shopper? Has your satisfaction with these stores decreased 10% in the last year?
