BROCKPORT, N.Y. — A woman in upstate New York was arraigned Friday after she reportedly beheaded her seven-year-old son.

Hanane Mouhib is facing murder charges for allegedly killing Abraham Cardens at home Thursday night. Monroe County deputies responded to the home located at 5499 Lake Road around 8:15 p.m.

During a news conference, deputies said three calls came in from multiple family members inside the home at the time of the incident.

The third call indicated that someone was hurt.

"Deputies when on to check the house further and made the grim discovery of Abraham," said Sheriff Todd Baxter of Monroe County.

"Abraham suffered a stab wound to his back and a severe stab wound to his neck causing his head to become disengaged from his body."

Baxter says this wasn't the first time deputies have visited the home. Mouhib made calls herself last month asking for help on March 5 and March 8.

"There was no suicidal tendency, she just didn't feel mentally right at the time," said Baxter. "Deputies responded and assisted in taking her to the hospital."

Baxter said there was no indication to anyone -- not even the family -- that Mouhib was going to do this.
