Dr. D and Faye - My Momma stores her Vidalias in an old but clean pair of pantyhose. You put one onion in each leg, tie to hose in a knot, and repeat as need for the number of onions you have. Make sure there is plenty of room between the onion, knot, and next onion. Then she hangs them (by the middle part of the hose) in a dry, dark, and cool part of the house. When you need an onion, cut through the hose below the knot at the "toe" part and work you way up each side/leg. I think it has something to do with keeping them separated and air circulating around the onions. I'm planning on trying this when I get home. I hope it helps.

Dr D - I just keep onions in the produce drawer in my fridge because they go bad too soon otherwise, as you mentioned.

How do you store your onions? Growing up in the mid-west, we had a "fruit room", which was a small underground room without windows in the basement, with a dehumidifier, that stayed cool and dry year 'round. In NC, I can't even keep a 2 pound bag of onions in my pantry and get them used up before they begin to spoil.

Thanks Faye I got it. We like to bake the onions with some spices and butter on top for a great side with the steak. Thanks as always for your great help!

So sad. I wanted to buy the onions to have with my steaks for Father's Day but I do not do face book. Anyone want to trade for some other coupons if you are not buying these. Thanks.
