And we got word this week about a new food truck. Cakes by Caren, a Raleigh-based bakery, has started a food truck. They have done a few dates with other trucks, so we look forward to checking out! One of their signature items is the "cake shot" – a layered cupcake in a cup. Sounds like my kind of shot!
Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be expanding its presence in Raleigh. The franchise announced yesterday that it had signed a multi-unit development deal with Raleigh entrepreneur Sherman Dye to bring five locations to the city in the next three years. The chain already operates three in the Raleigh-Durham market and six others throughout the state. No word on where these new locations will be.
