A new traffic signal is up and running at an accident-prone intersection.

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — A new traffic signal is up and running at an accident-prone intersection.
The Piney Grove-Wilbon and S. Main Street extension opened in August in Holly Springs, and officials say there have been eight crashes there so far.
Since all the accidents were caused by drivers running a stop sign, the North Carolina Department of Transportation fast-tracked the project to replace the stop sign with the new traffic light.
