Cirque de Vol Studios, Raleigh's first creative movement arts studio, is offering some new programs for parents and their young children.

The studio, which opened in September, will be offering Family Circus and Cirque Bebe starting next month.

Family Circus for toddlers meets on Wednesday mornings starting Dec. 5. The  class is designed for adults and their children age 12 to 24 months to get up and move with some basic circus arts skills, yoga-inspired stretches, simple tumbling and balancing, and games.

The Cirque Bebe class begins Wednesday afternoons on Dec. 5. It's for post-partum mothers and their infants. Here's a description: "This relaxing and rejuvenating class is designed as a bonding experience for mother and infant while gently strengthening a new mother’s core. Soft music and an ambiance of tranquility alongside gentle stretching and strengthening movements inspired by Latin and classical dance, yoga, and pilates …. all while wearing your infant in a front pack or sling, or while sharing a mat for some face-to-face time."

Sisters Sara Phoenix and Sheryl Howell opened the studio together. It offers circus arts, aerial arts, flow and fire arts, along with zumbra, yoga, belly dance, hooping and more. There are classes for adults and kids, including camps, birthday parties and more.

It's located at 300 W. Hargett St. in downtown Raleigh. Check the studio's website for details.
