New shipping, price match policies for Target, Walmart and Amazon
Posted October 25, 2013
Target, Walmart and Amazon have all announced changes to their various policies this week. If you do any price matching or online shopping, make sure you read about these changes.
Minimum Free Shipping Increase: Amazon has just increased the purchase amount required to get Free Shipping from $25 to $35. The new $35 minimum is the first increase in over a decade. According to Amazon, they have added a number of new items that qualify for free shipping.
Price Matching: Target is extending their Price Match policy for the holidays. They will accept price matches on products purchased from November 1 - December 21 (excluding Black Friday prices). Usually, they only allow price matching within 7 days of purchase, but for the holidays they are giving you much more time to score a better price from their future ads or competitors.
Target allows price matching from Target's weekly ad (that came out after you bought the item), Target.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com, BabiesRUs.com or in a competitor’s local printed ad. Head to Guest Services to request the price match.
Ship to Store: In addition, by November 1, you should be able to purchase items on Target.com and then pick up the items at your local Target the same day. Some Target stores already offer that option, but not all. This service will not be available Thanksgiving week.
Cartwheel: Their Cartwheel app program will also 1-day only savings of 30 - 50% on giftable items during the holidays.
