New SavingStar stores are now available!
Posted July 12, 2014
SavingStar.com, the cash back savings site, has added a bunch of new participating stores including Walgreens, Walmart, Target, Dollar General & Family Dollar! If you are new to SavingStar.com, see the details below about how this program works.
How to redeem offers at the new stores:
These new stores require an extra step to redeem the offers. First, you need to download the SavingStar.com, app. It is available for Android and iPhone. Once you buy a participating product, you tap the redeem button on the app. Then scan the barcode and take a picture of the receipt. It is very similar to the ibotta cash back program.
You can already use the cash back site at CVS, Rite Aid, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Just Save, Food Lion and Kroger, but they do not require that you scan in bar codes and receipts. You can see how they work below.
New to SavingStar? Here is how it works:
SavingStar.com allows you to register your store reward cards and then load digital coupons to your store reward card. What is unique about this program is that the coupon discount does not come off at the register. The savings are added to your SavingStar account and when it reaches $5, you can cash the savings in for a gift card. You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card, have the money deposited into your Paypal account or checking account or donate it to AmericanForests.org.
When you sign up for the program, you will enter the reward card numbers for the reward cards you wish to register. Then, they will automatically link the eCoupons you select to all of your cards. Participating stores in our area include CVS, Rite Aid, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Food Lion and Kroger. They also have iPhone and Android apps available.
According to the SavingStar.com website, new coupons will become available at the first of every month. Savings will usually show up in your account between 2 days and 2 weeks depending on how long it takes the stores to give SavingStar the information. These coupons will not double. Although it does not say on the site, you should be able to use paper coupons with no issue in addition to these SavingStar.com coupons. See more details and sign up at SavingStar.com.
