SavingStar

SavingStar.com SavingStar.com is offering a new way to save money with the SavingStar Cashback Mall.

The Cashback Mall is basically a reward program that allows you to earn .5% to 10% cash back on purchases to retailers that are made through the Cashback Mall.  Some of the participating retailers include Staples.com, JCPenney, Groupon, Macy's, Home Depot, QVC and more.  The percentage you get back depends on the store.

To use the program, go to the SavingStar.com homepage make sure you are logged in. Click on Cashback Mall in the top navigation. Then pick the store you want to shop at or use the categories section to pick a store.  Shop as you normally would online and then earn savings back into your SavingStar account (usually within 10 days). Each store offers different cash back amounts from .5% - 10% and you can see the percent when you look at the website.  If you use ebates or other cash back programs, you will see that it is similar.

You will also find that they have a new Online Coupon Codes section as well.

New to SavingStar? Here is how it works:

SavingStar.com allows you to register your store reward cards and then load digital coupons to your store reward card. What is unique about this program is that the coupon discount does not come off at the register. The savings are added to your SavingStar account and when it reaches $5, you can cash the savings in for a gift card. You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card, have the money deposited into your Paypal account or checking account or donate it to AmericanForests.org.

When you sign up for the program, you will enter the reward card numbers for the reward cards you wish to register. Then, they will automatically link the eCoupons you select to all of your cards. Participating stores in our area include CVS, Rite Aid, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Food Lion and Kroger. They also have iPhone and Android apps available.

According to their website, new coupons will become available at the first of every month. Savings will usually show up in your account between 2 days and 2 weeks depending on how long it takes the stores to give SavingStar the information. These coupons will not double. Although it does not say on the site, you should be able to use paper coupons with no issue in addition to these SavingStar.com coupons.

hollypowell1977 - No stores take SavingStar e-coupons at the store. The way the program works is that you sign up your store reward cards, load the coupons to your account and then after you make a qualifying purchase at a participating store (Harris Teeter is a participating chain and you can see the list of other stores on their website) the store sends the qualifying purchase info to Savingstar a few weeks later. Then you get credit for the e-coupon in your SavingStar.com account.

Once you reach $5 in credit, you can cash it out (Paypal, Amazon or donate). If you ask a cashier at a store if they take SavingStar e-coupons, most will probably have no idea what you are talking about and say that they don't take them. I have been getting savingstar credits from HT's for a long time with no issues. Hope that helps. :-)

hollypowell, the ecoupons don't come off at the register at HT. You link your HT card to your acct, and when you buy the product, the coupon amount goes into your SS account. onnce it gets to a certain amount, you can cash out on SS.

hollypowell, my savingstar gets credited from HT all the time. You register your VIC card with savingstar and pick your items. It is not taken off at the register but shows up as a credit in your savingstar account about 7-10 days later. When you get credits for $5 you can choose a payout.

Went to Harris Teeter in Wake Forest and was told they do not accept Saving Star ecoupons? by a manager.
