New to SavingStar? Here is how it works:

SavingStar.com allows you to register your store reward cards and then load digital coupons to your store reward card. What is unique about this program is that the coupon discount does not come off at the register. The savings are added to your SavingStar account and when it reaches $5, you can cash the savings in for a gift card. You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card, have the money deposited into your Paypal account or checking account or donate it to AmericanForests.org.

When you sign up for the program, you will enter the reward card numbers for the reward cards you wish to register. Then, they will automatically link the eCoupons you select to all of your cards. Participating stores in our area include CVS, Rite Aid, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Food Lion and Kroger. They also have iPhone and Android apps available.

According to their website, new coupons will become available at the first of every month. Savings will usually show up in your account between 2 days and 2 weeks depending on how long it takes the stores to give SavingStar the information. These coupons will not double. Although it does not say on the site, you should be able to use paper coupons with no issue in addition to these SavingStar.com coupons.

Thanks Faye. That makes sense. I would rather have the Savingstar coupon, so I will take a look at my digital coupons for Lowes and Kroger to take off the ones I am having trouble with. I assume this also applies to Harris Teeter as well...

libbyK - this means that you have downloaded it on another digital coupon site as a digital coupon (probably a Kroger.com or a Lowes Foods.com digital coupon, is my guess). SavingStar seems to be doing away with allowing more than one digital coupon to be used in a transaction. Here is the broad statement from their website:

"In the future, we may implement mechanisms to limit the combination of SavingStar eCoupons with other manufacturer coupons."

So, that's my thought on why you can't load some of the SavingStar coupons.

    Does that make sense?

For some Savingstar coupons, when I try to activate them, I get the message "We could not activate that eCoupon because is already being used in another service." Does anyone know what that means?

Good question, Kathy. I have not seen it but with all the coupons out you would think we could find it. I'll start looking more closely.

ilovelucy - did you contact SavingStar directly about it? Your card may not have linked correctly because I always get my HT credits. It takes a while for HT but they eventually show up.

Does anyone know where you can get the gluten free cookie dough in this area?

I don't think my HT evic card is hooked up correctly with my savingstar.. I've double checked the card numbers and the deals just won't go to my account. Does anyone else have trouble with savingstar? Maybe it's just not meant to be for me
