New movies this week: The Forest, Revenant

A look at what's new in theaters this week.

The Forest (PG-13, Thriller, Starring Natalie Dormer, Taylor Kinney, Yukiyoshi Ozawa, Eoin Macken) - Rising at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan, the legendary real-life Aokigahara Forest is the suspense-filled setting of this supernatural thriller. A young American woman, Sara, journeys there in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared. In the company of expatriate Aiden, Sara enters the forest having been well warned to "stay on the path." Determined to discover the truth about her sister's fate, Sara will have to face the angry and tormented souls of the dead that prey on anyone who dares come near them. These malevolent spirits lying in wait for Sara at every turn will plunge her into a frightening darkness from which she must fight to save herself.

The Masked Saint (PG-13, Action, Starring Brett Granstaff, Lara Jean Chorostecki, T.J. McGibbon, Diahann Carroll, Roddy Piper) -
The journey of a professional wrestler who becomes a small town pastor and moonlights as a masked vigilante fighting injustice. While facing a crisis at home and at the church, the pastor must evade the police and somehow reconcile his violent secret identity with his calling to be a pastor.

The Revenant (R, Action, Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter, Domhnall Gleeson, Lukas Haas) - In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald. Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.

Wazir (Not rated, Drama, Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari) - 'Wazir' is a tale of two unlikely friends, a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster and a brave ATS officer, brought together by grief and a strange twist of fate. The two men decide to help each other win the biggest game of their lives. But there's a mysterious and dangerous opponent lurking in the shadows, who is all set to checkmate them.
